Protect Black & Brown Girls Campaign
Ten years prior to the recent socio-cultural shift, Pretty Brown Girl has been committed to empowering thousands of Black and Brown girls by creating safe spaces with the help of just a handful of volunteers and a couple of donors a year. There is a lifetime of work that needs to be done, please join us as we launch our “Protect Black and Brown Girls Campaign” for Giving Tuesday!
Protecting our girls means protecting their mental health and breaking the cycle of dismissive approaches to intersectionality just like we did for Grace, a 15-year-old Black girl in Michigan who was sentenced to juvenile detention for incomplete online coursework as a violation to her probation. Pretty Brown Girl Foundation advocated on behalf of Grace, raising awareness and funds to support her legal and counseling needs. We are grateful that she was released and is now thriving at her new school.
There are so many other young girls like Grace who are being characterized as a delinquent when educational environments are ready to discard them; but with your support and Pretty Brown Girl’s social justice initiatives and uplifting programs, together, we can break the cycle one girl at a time. With 11 days until Giving Tuesday, will you join with us to help us reach our goal of raising $10,000?
This Giving Tuesday, you can invest in The Pretty Brown Girl Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization committed to utilizing its platform to speak out against injustice while addressing the community’s need of reducing the effects of overt and subtle forms of bias towards Black and Brown Girls with issues pertaining to gender and racial inequality. Your tax-deductible donation of any amount will make a huge difference in the lives of our girls as they face these uncertain times. Every dollar counts!
Your generous donation and support will help us continue to advocate on behalf of social justice issues in communities and continue the momentum of empowering Black and Brown girls. Thank you in advance for your support of the Pretty Brown Girl Foundation!
