As a young start-up company, we built Kindest because we noticed that nonprofits do not have access to a technology platform, like Kindest, that allows them to retain 100% of their fundraising profits.

We have built this company by placing our nonprofit clients' needs at the forefront, because our clients directly shape our communities and our world.

Despite all that, we believe that makes Kindest an inclusive, diverse company with passionate individuals who strive to make the world beautiful by supporting our nonprofit clients — we realized that we can still do better.

Our amazing diverse team approached us and told us we can and should be one step ahead. So, we have listened, and we are implementing key strategies to ensure sustainable goals that will make Kindest the platform for all nonprofits.

To get there, we must acknowledge that BIPOC organizations do not always get the same recognition or community support that other nonprofit organizations may receive. Often, BIPOC lead organizations are overlooked by grants, foundations, and community opportunities.

Kindest plans to even the playing field by:

  • Committing to 50%+ of nonprofit client spotlight features include BIPOC communities and leaders.
  • Providing a free monthly inclusion event that highlights or features a minority nonprofit leader.
  • Creating technical grant opportunities to provide a free year of Kindest PRO to BIPOC-lead organizations serving primarily minority communities. This will provide access to our Fundraising Experts so that our clients can learn development strategy, implement it, and be able to execute their missions to support more people in their communities.
  • Providing free re-packaged materials such as social media, content calendars, campaign resources that cater to organizations whose main donors are below $250.

Additionally, we will provide incentive based opportunities:

At Kindest, we plan to level the playing field so that nonprofit organizations are competing for match donations with other organizations of similar size and/or revenue. Case in point, a tiny, start-up nonprofit should not be competing against an established nonprofit for a chance to win a match donation.
And example of what this might look like includes:

  • Raise $1k in donations by October 31st and be entered for a chance to win a $1k match. Nonprofits would only be in a pool with other organizations who also raise $1k
  • Raise $5k in donations and be entered for a chance to win a $5k match. Nonprofits would only be in a pool with other organizations who also raise $5k
  • Raise $10k in donations by October 31st and be entered for a chance to win a $10k match. Nonprofits would only be in a pool with other organizations who also raise $10k

In addition to the above, Kindest plans to provide match opportunities around things other than fundraising outcomes. For example, “share a success you’ve had using Kindest,” or based on the number of donors vs. donations raised.

In total, Kindest aims to be not only the best fundraising platform for our nonprofit clients, but the most supportive and equitable in helping our community reach their fundraising goals.
